I appreciate the Botany Final year graduates for their seamless daily effort of 7 hours for 18 days on the ground. Their team work and commitment, continuously supporting each other to complete the project is commendable.
They displayed leadership skills by constantly coordinating with KSRSAC APP developers to fix various bugs and glitches and providing valuable inputs to improvise the features of the App.
With several limitations and challenges, these girls have executed the project on ground affixing QR codes to each and every tree, entering the details of tree age, girth, height along with botanical and vernacular names in BBMP KSRSAC APP.
Choosing tree census as their internship program is a testament to their commitment to environment and their willingness to make a difference in Bengaluru. We are proud of their achievement, and I wish them all the best in their future endeavours
EMPOWERING WOMEN AND ENSURING SAFETY, 2022
Women's safety and security is a critical issue that requires attention and action from various stakeholders, including governments, non-government organisations, and educational institutions. One way to raise awareness about this issue is to conduct safety and security awareness programs at colleges and for lower-section women.
Such programs can educate participants on various safety measures they can take to protect themselves, such as carrying a personal safety alarm, avoiding isolated areas, and being aware of their surroundings. The programs can also cover topics such as sexual harassment, domestic violence, and cybercrime, and provide participants with resources for seeking help if they experience any of these forms of violence.
Involving local law enforcement agencies and women's rights organizations in these programs can also be useful in providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of the issue and the support systems available to them.
It is crucial to prioritize the safety and security of women and to work towards creating a safer environment for them. Programs such as these can play a significant role in raising awareness and empowering women to take charge of their safety.
TREE PARK - SPARK
Our NGO, achieved in saving and transforming a 3-acre Government land that was previously in dispute into a thriving tree park called SPARK with the support of the local residents of Alpine Eco Road. This is a testament to the power of unity and the positive impact that can be achieved with the right intention, passion, and hard work. Today, the park boasts over 500 diverse plant species and serves as a much-needed lung-space for the 2500 residents in the neighbourhood.
MASK DISTRIBUTION 2020
During the pandemic, our organization distributed 2-ply cotton masks for free to underprivileged people. These masks were procured from local weavers, providing economic support to them during these challenging times.
